§ 45-3. Contributing to delinquency of minor; penalties.

  • It shall be unlawful for any parent, legal guardian or other person having the care or custody of a minor child under 18 years of age, by any act or by any word, or by the failure to act, or by lack of supervision and control over said minor child, to encourage, contribute toward, cause or tend to cause said minor to become neglected or delinquent by reason of activity of said minor child within the Borough of Paulsboro so as to come or tend to come under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Division of the Gloucester County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, knowing that said minor had offended the public peace, safety and morals, including any criminal statute of the State of New Jersey or ordinance of the Borough of Paulsboro, and said parent, legal guardian or person having custody of said minor shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment not exceeding 90 days, or both.
